Huge upset at the BC Senior Games
« on: September 18, 2009, 11:21:12 PM »

So I kept getting phone calls from a fisherman about watching his badminton matches at the Olympics Skating Arena during the BC Senior Games this week. Today we went over there to take a peek at the championship match since it is only a few minutes drive from my house. Despite of our sideline support, it came down to a two set to one upset. :P

Check out his moves without his fishing rod. ;D

Thanks for the photos Rodney. Even though we only got the silver I was able to land the gold in competitive singles in my age bracket even though I only had two opponent. It took me three sets in each game to beat them. In the second match the opponent was better than me but he was hampered by a bad back so that gave me the advantage this year. Playing in the Olympic skating stadium was once in a lifetime chance to play there but the lighting was not that favorable for badminton but it was nice to be one of the first to win gold under its roof. ;D ;D
