where to get your fish smoked?
« on: September 08, 2009, 08:38:58 PM »

Had to downsize this year, so I don't have the room available to smoke my catch for the season...sometimes I'm lazy and I'll have Bruce's market smoke my fish...does anyone recommend any other professional companies that are not too expensive?

If you're withing driving distance of Bruce's then Ocean Master Foods is just a few minutes away, their Lox is better than Bruce's IMO.

I dropped mine off to the salmon smokehouse in North Van.  Price seemed reasonable.

There is a Deli on east Broadway a block west of main (forgot the name) that does the best cold smoke around for 1$ a pound but a min. of 50 lbs.  It's been a while since I had 50 lbs of salmon.  Good luck!
