A rather gruesome series of bees eating a live dragonfly...

While out taking pictures I came across a dragonfly laying on the ground it was flapping it's wings and I saw a bee buzzing around it so I thought it would make for an interesting photo.  I am not sure if the bee stung the dragonfly and caused it to fall to the ground or if something else had happened to it.

Nice series.

Quick FYI - those are wasps.  Bees only sting defensively and get only one shot.  Wasps - over and over... aggressively.

i like #4 the best.

Thanks for the clarification, I usually just refer to them as bees but I do know the difference.  And thanks for the comments.

I like the ones with the fishing fly next to them... great to see the resemblance to the real thing.

Good macros.

The orange/yellow dragonfly is pretty cool looking, I don't ever recall seeing one that colour before.
