'shooter' wat do u think of that tikka. i wanna buy a low cost gun for shits and giggles hunting. I hate taking either of my weatherby's on the bike, they rattle and jiggle all the time and I dont want to take the risk of throwing off my scopes.

I've got a Zeiss on the 300 and an old but great leupold gold ring on the 7mm. I'm would pair the tikka up with a stainless leupold rifleman.

For the deer out here which are sickly and small looking compared to Alberta where I'm from.Your best bet is to go like 270 or 30 06 no reason to go bigger unless you decide to go moose hunting in the future then go at least, 30 06 or the trendy 300 win mag which is a excellent round.I have taken a lot of deer with the 270 win 150 gr a few moose, its all shot placement!,also taken deer and moose with the 30 06 180gr also. These Calibers are effective in taking game.I've been hunting for 17 yrs now all in Alberta this is my first yr hunting here in BC.Should be an interesting hunting yr.

I use a 30-06, used to use the 300 Win Mag, AKA 7.62 NATO Sniper rifle.
The 7.62 was far beyond what is needed for BC hunting and you will find the 06 capable in every situation you could find yourself in.

The 150 nosler is excellent  for deer, and I keep larger caliber on hand should I run into Mr. Grizz and a situation.

The variety and accessibility of calibers make this the go to unit you need.

 "AKA"7.62 sniper rifle???
7.62 is not the standard round for NATO anymore.

338 Lapua,. is starting be a common round.

NATO is going bigger.
