I've been taking my pontoon boat out to the islands for many years, if you put in at the toilet bowl the row across it is very easy, same coming back. The water usually starts to rise around 8-9 am on weekends as the need for power from the dam increases, that with a incoming tide can mean a quick rise in water levels, be careful.

Interesting set of posts.  I live in Mission and have been anxious to get out to do some "river" type fishing.  The Stave is just around the corner, OK, it's a really long corner, and I have always been interested.  Just a bit fearful to try out something strange by myself, at least for the first time.   ;D
As noted above, in a case like this, a partner is always a wise idea.
If anyone is going out that way, in a couple of weeks, I would be interested in meeting up.  I would be bringing a small boat to use because I would be willing to try getting out to the islands.

Thanks,

Does anyone care to share where they may launch a small boat with a 15hp motor, it is a cartopper so access is flexible? Is the closest actual launch Mission bridge or is there something in maple ridge?

Any help would be great

Fort Langley, or Haney Marine near the Albion Ferry are the closest.
