NSR-Not Snag Related
« on: October 21, 2008, 03:45:29 PM »

In the interest of keeping people's minds on fishing I'm starting a NSR thread.

So to start-do you think that the wool we use now isn't as bright as years past?

The stuff from Angelo's, Gibbs and even Uncle Fred's looks a bit bleached out to me.

Could just be a function of my (admittedly aged) eyes or could it be we're being sold an inferior product?

Is it possible that the yarn of yesteryear had UV brighteners and now tightwad Canuck importers won't deal with it because of price point?

Your thoughts Please-your NSR input of any variety is much appreciated. 8)

Uncle Freds has some "Bling Yarn" that has some flash in it. It looks pretty decent.

It'll work too-years ago I had some flashy stuff left over from making Polar Bear hair streamers to troll for Coho and I used some in yarn ties they ended up looking something like what Uncle Fred's has but even flashier.
