Headed off to Merritt the last couple of weeks after some luck earlier this month at Mamit Lake. On June 14th I was planning to fish but ended up setting up my new boat trailer to fit my boat properly and didn't get any fishing in. The next day I head to Lac Le Jeune. It was a beautiful day but the fish didn't cooperate. We landed 3 but nothing of any size.
This weekend I headed back up to Merritt again and June 21st we landed only a couple of small fish. It was very hot in the morning but the afternoon quickly changed to heavy rain showers. Luckily it was not that cold out and it was flat calm almost all day except for a 10 minute windstorm that came out of nowhere. Today we went back to the same lake and the wind was howling but the sun was out so again it wasn't too bad. We only had 1 bite for about 5 hours today but it was well worth it. After about a 10 minute battle I landed a nice rainbow of about 5.5 - 6 lbs. That is my biggest rainbow ever. So much fun on a fly rod.
