As Chris and other members here have indicated, the Chwk Vedder Rivers Day event was pretty successful in spite of really miserable weather. This was our 20th river cleanup and our 6th Annual Rivers Day event and this was the first time we have had any real rain in all those cleanups, so I guess we were due. Thank goodness we had the use of the Chwk Fish and Game Club facilities.

A lot of debris was again removed from the riparian areas of the river and we will have the tonnage for you later. I think everyone enjoyed the food, displays, entertainment and prizes.

We know we had about 190 people involved, with about 145 actually on the river, and about 28 involved in displays, organizing, band, cooking etc and about 15 who just came in to see what was going on.

There were a lot of yound people involved and this is important and goes toward a major goal of the CVRCC and that is promotion of the idea that conserving our environment is crucial to all of us.

We will be setting dates for next years cleanup sometime in November and will let the forum know.

Again, many thanks to all our volunteers and especially to the members of this forum who have helped us over the years.
