NFR: Music time!
« on: January 12, 2007, 12:20:19 PM »

Yesterday, we spent a couple of hours filming Nina's friends practicing some songs. The three girls are in a band called Miss Harper (no relation to Stephen ;) ). We've put up one of the songs on YouTube now for all to enjoy. Please take a look at:

Let them know what you think by leaving a comment here or under the video.

Enjoy! :)

Very, very nice ladies. Needs a little more polishing but like an uncut diamond, you know the brilliance
is there. I especially enjoyed the violin but then again I've always had a special love for the violin. Great work girls, and as Ed would say, "Great show, really, really great". ;)

:o

When I get back, we'll film you playing a banjo and put it on YouTube too. ;D

The sound is not as good as expected, much better when listened to live yesterday. The microphone on the video camera doesn't do their voices justice, the keyboard overtook the voices most of the time, but this would have to do with our limited equipment.

I was quite impressed though. I've heard the guitarist sang in the past alone but never together in a band. I thought it was quite well done considering the songs are originally written and they play it with a strong passion. :)

Perhaps that's the reason.

They are obviously enjoying themselves.  I'd listen to them.  Needs a bass player.

(poor sound notwithstanding..) They sound pretty good! I like their stuff(Go to the website and listen to the songs there.. It offers a much better portrayal of their "sound" Don't worry, I navigated it even without speaking the language!). Nice vocals, and "not bad" playing.

If I were to critique it I would suggest they get someone to play a djembe, be it one of the 3 or another person. It would really add to the "feel" and would be just the right amount of percussion IMO.

Thanks for sharing Rodney, I always enjoy listening to others music!

Here's another one. :)

Dixie Chicks Medley

<Looks like YouTube is having a poopoo again. The video just became unavailable, but should be live again in a bit>
