Local Lake Trout December 2nd
« on: December 02, 2006, 07:23:36 PM »

I will just give the jist of the day this time. ::)
Arrived at Laffy at around 12:30pm after exploring a little river for a couple hours. Looking for some new spots.
We didn't get any action until later in the day at around sun-set. We had a lot of action but were only able to keep one little fatty ;D
I forgot my good camera but was able to snap a couple pics with my phone and got one at home. First pic is from my backyard. Another one to come later. Also saw a fish jump through the ice and flap around for a good couple minutes....HELPLESS! ;D Until finally he found a hole ;)

Another pic to come later...

Nice Rainbow! What did you use to catch it? Your title should have been Local Rainbow Trout. I thought you went to do some fishing at Golden Ears park when you brought up lake trout.

Haha oops! :D Whatever, lol. I used combo of orange and yellow floating power bait eggs. Had a few more missed strikes as well. I would advise putting a bobber on your line in between the eyes, thus it will weigh your line down. When a fish bites even a little and you are away, the line and bobber will be up to the rod again.

Thanks, it is a good thing to try if one hasn't already. Even though they dont compare to steelhead or salmon, I still like to relax, sit down and enjoy the views.

Rapala 6 1/2 foot rod with a Sigma Shakspeare. ;)
I always fish trout with really really light gear.
