A new time change, a new fishing day. Always the promise of fish (or the hope of a fish), and the camaraderie that comes with good people fishing (and hey, even the people you go with!

). Started the morning early at Thickrick's place while waiting for Big Steel to pick us up for a trip to the 'Squish. Didn't know what to expect but didn't think that the power grid out in parts of the downtown core boded well for the day. Didn't know if the river would be blown out, or fishable. But that's okay, what's life without a little risk?
We got to our first spot early and fished rather rigorously. For our rewards, I only managed to land one chum, and hooked and lost a measly few fish.

. Meanwhile, TR and BS both hooked into numerous chum and some wild coho. They even managed to land a few. Here's a pic of TR's coho. It was pretty dark and had been in the system for awhile.
TR's wild coho:

Meanwhile, BS also landed a wild coho but escaped before we could make it famous. Actually, BS was clumsy and it slipped out of his hands into the water.

Now, both boys will swear up and down on a stack of bibles that they each had a chrome coho on while I had wandered away to inspect the water further upstream. I can't comment on what I didn't see.

We then moved onto the Mamquam. What a difference a week makes! While the river wasn't blown out, visibility had dropped to 1.5 feet, even less in parts. And the water had come up a lot. So, more fishing ensues, with both boys getting into fish, and landing some, while yours truly, having a cursed day hooks into the odd one but cannot bring one to the beach.

I think that the combination of TR and BS = bad luck for me.
But enough of my whining. Here's a few other pics:
TR and his chum that he bonked for the smoker:

BS and the chum TR bonked because we didn't take a pic of the male chum he bonked and were too lazy to go to the truck for a pic this late in the day.

For the record, TR's chum was bigger but BS's chum was cleaner.
Here's a pic of the brokeback boys at play:

Those big smiles may not have anything to do with that coho TR landed.....
