A Happy Day In The Chilliwack River Valley, Read On!!!
« on: October 16, 2006, 05:19:02 PM »

It was a year today that the Pointa Vista Restaurant closed and now a year later, right to the date, great news it opened today. ;D We all remember the great steak and egg special they served to a lot of hungry anglers.

Wes has done a very nice job remodeling it along with the great pictures of years past in the Chilliwack River Valley.

Wes is open from 7 to 7 daily except on Friday and Saturday when the doors stay open from 7AM to 9 PM.

He is working on a limited menu for the next few days as the menu is still being worked on but he has a daily special going, starting tomorrow he tells me. Also tackle and groceries are available.

Gwyn and I stopped in today for a good cup of coffee, some toast along with a delicious blueberry muffin.

When going by, stop in and check it out.

Some not so good news Gwyn and I as hard as we tried our floats did not go down and we even ventured into the upper river with no success. River was up a few inches and the lower had a great colour to it but it did not help us. Time to go broodstock cutthroat fishing with Buckeye I guess.

On the way home stopped at a run below Peach Road and I watched the 5 guys there for a few minutes, were they ever hooking them, by sweeping the run. :o ::)

I even tried a few casts but their success rate sent me packing after 5 minutes as all the fish they kept hooking tied up the pool all the time. :-[

Something has to be done with this bull **** method going on at the entire Vedder , getting to the point where i dont even want to go out there anymore
It WILL start to change...with a whole lot of effort, concerted effort by people like us that is, sheer determination and WILL....
Won't be easy, won't be quick, but it will happen if we all work together towards that end....

Great to hear the PV is back up and ready to go just in time for the upcoming steelhead season!  ;D

Sorry to hear your coho streak hasn't come to an end yet Chris... ???  :o Maybe your leafs will make up for it... ;)

Maybe CG needs a guided trip away from his home river. ;D

Good to hear about the reopening of a local business.

OK - ANOTHER newbie question - being new to the area, I have no idea about this place, but it sounds like somewhere I'd like to check out!!  Can anyone tell me where it is?  thanks!

From Vedder Road, turn east onto Chilliwack Lake Road at the Vedder Crossing Bridge. Drive for 6 km. It is on your right just after Thompson Park.

Thanks for the news on the Pointa Vista Chris. I hope they bring back the steak and eggs special. The only complaint I have is that no matter how you like your steak it always comes out medium well to well done. :(

Nice photo, good to have. We mentioned to the new managers about the steak and egg special the other day. ;D

Am going take up 3, 100 year old antique bottles for their collectible display shelf.
