Just wondering what you choose for float fishing and under what circumstances.  I haven't fished roe sacks much, but maybe I should be using them at times?  just wondering.

I think it's personal preference. They both work. I find roe bags last longer if you are fishing faster runs. It's definitely alot cleaner than roe.

Ok, so I tried to cure my second set of roe and it to was a complete failure, I know im doing something wrong but what is it.... tried Rondeys method http://www.fishingwithrod.com/articles/2004/1004_01.html and didnt work out at all. Then I tried Birdboys way of just coating the eggs in borax for 3 hours and that didnt work, but was better. Both batches didnt create a nice firm roe for the hook, but much like what It was when I started. Maybe I need to add more borax, but I really have no idea. This is fustrating, I really want to start using roe, since it seems to be deadly against springs.  So if anyone knows what im doing wrong, or has any suggestions give me some help. Thanks

How long are you drying them ? I usually let mine dry overnight (and upwards to 16-18 hours) and then borax them prior to freezing.

Pretty much exaclty what I do for it when I am using it for roe and I am not making Roe-sacks out of it.  Just keep it simple.  All I do is let the skeens dry out for an extended period of time, over night.  In the morning I put it in the Fridge and when I get home from work, I cut it up, Put it in Borax in a zip lock bag and let it sit in the fridge for a couple of days at least.   Then if I won't be using it for a while, I freeze it.  You can ask Fish Freak how good my roe was the other day.  Very nice and firm, and a perfect natural color.  At least I though so anyways.  The fish didn't seem to mind itr either!

I do it the same as big steel, let it dry for a while so it firms up.  Then borax them.  Or if you want to pro cure them for a brighter colour, do it first and then dry them and borax them.

Never gotten a hit on a roe sack but mine might be a bit too big too, i just like a nice juicy slab of straight roe.

Have you thought that the fish may not.......  There is a time and a place for a big slab of roe, and with the water conditions the way they are right now......

ssab nik, question on your single eggs.  I have seen a guy fish with a single egg.  What would happen if you put a hook through your single egg?  Will it be firm inside or will it squish out?  Thanks.

I think that I am going to have to try the way that ssab nik said. But do you dry them out first. If so do you use a little borax or just dry them out with nothing.
