Well its almost that time of year again, time to start fly fishing different systems for salmon. What are some flies you guys use for chum??

Black, purple marabou patterns. big patterns. but pretty much anything

Lol are island chum harder to catch or something? I find it easier to catch 5-6 coho to one chum.

for calmer water like the Harrison - nothing works better than a olive wooly bugger with a gold cone head and some flash in the tail. This is basically the same fly that's effective for coho. For place like the Squamish I prefer bunny patterns sizes #1 through #6 - hot pink and florescent green seem to be best in that order. You can tie them like zonkers or just wrap the shank with a fur strip. Tubes work well too. Purple is another color some folks like. Egg patterns in hot ornage pink and red are also very effective - use those on the vedder and the chums will pull your arms off.

I shoulda added that a lime wooly bugger with a silver cone head works pretty good as well

popsicles. fav colour combos, green, orange, and purple with a few strands of flashbou, and another is purple, pink, and white with a few strand of flashbou ;)
