Cap river sept. 8th
« on: September 07, 2006, 10:43:51 PM »

took a trip to the cap river today for a shoot at the tight-lipped cohos or maybe odd surprising spring.  got to the pool at around 4pm (after work) and as expected there r lots of cohos holding near the bottom. the visibility of the water was excellent, u could basically see thru to the bottom with the help of the sun light. fished with wool (pink, moss, red, green, peach) and spoon (silver/gold brass hammered corcs, kitimat and koho) and spinners for 3 hours to avail...the ever spooky hos were just too hesistated to get too close to the lures.  hooked 3 small (8 to 14 in. range) wild and a hatchery rainbows/steelheads with the wool though. to avoid hurting more to those valuable species, i decided to call it a day after releasing the 4th. trout.  slow slow slow.... we just need some rain there i guess...

I think we need more than some rain...its been a very dry summer and I bet cleavland reservior is pretty low...they will keep the dam locked up tight until we get some significant rain  :-[.
