You're right, its not taking money from scott at this point, but i'd feel bad about it....I dont think I would like to see a whole bunch of people lined up in front of my "old" store just waiting to feed off its remains.  I wouldn't want to go through that myself, so I'm not going to participate.  I'll follow my conscience on this one.

I wont be there either out of respect for someone I consider a friend. The guy is just one of those guys that doesnt charge you for the "extra's" If you buy something or not he will give you advice. A class act and hopefully he re-considers and tries again. I for one would be lining up to greet him if he opened up again.

It was a great shop, the best I have visited, with really awesome service and advices.
I am sure the guys won't have any pb to find a new job.

in another ten years from now you won't see any specialty shops left in any regard..  Internet sales and huge warehouse stores are gradually taking over... unfortunately in the end it is all about the mighty $$$$$
I have never met Scott but i am sure he will do well with his next venture..

Dragonspeed is right in that the receiver who is appointed by the financial institution involved is handling the liquidation of assets to recover monies owed by the business.  I respect the decision by all to not take part in the windling down of assets.

The total proceeds of the sale will help reduce the indebtedness of the principals of the business to the financial institution and will thus reduce the amount of personal loss sustained.  Purchases will be a benefit to Anglers West , so buy lots guys.

I think that would be about right. It should help with the dept load to purchase stuff now before it goes to Maynards warehouse for diposal as I've seen before. They probably charge a lot to move the stuff to the warehouse and storage/disposoal fees etc. I try to go there and blow some cash, but again that means driving into Sulivan town Probably get charged for loitering.

Is is a financial institution or the partner to which these funds are going? 

If the liquidation is being forced by the partner in order to extreact his investment then Scott could be better off after that obligation is cleared...everyone speaks highly of Scott and he seems to have the communities' support so hopefully once the partner is out of the way, he can reopen.  Certainly buying gear during the recievership process wont hurt Scott anymore than he's hurting now, and indeed it could be one step in a process of him getting things back on track.

That said, does anyone know if his store has rod building componenets, I need cork and eyelets.

Its funny how many people are willing to support a sponser of this fine website but will not respect the proper way to do buisness in their time of need....

I hear alot of negative banter towards his former partner, but I am wondering if any of this should be pasted on the web?? does anyone really know or have proof of what happened in this business or is it all here say?? I for one wouldn't appreciate my business being spread on here.. maybe we should keep our opinions to ourselves.. if you don't wanna go don't go but don't drag someones name around when you don't really know what has happened..in the end Scott and his former Partner are the only people that know what really happened.....
