Conservative Tribunal on Fisheries Mismanagement
« on: August 29, 2006, 08:12:21 AM »

The new federal Conservative government plans on holding an inquiry or tribunal of some sort to address the management  of the west coast fishery. I hope everyone involved realizes that this years exceptional sockeye run is probably the result of good fisheries management and the limiting of all user groups to their access to the fish, in spite of the whining and complaining heard from everyone involved. I fear that we may return to the system of the commercial fisheries having the biggest stroke and calling all the shots, a system which just about totally devastated  our Fraser River salmon runs in the past.

Therefore All of you that would be concerned about this have to get involved.

Have you thought about the lobbying that the commercial fleet's will be doing on this?
