I also fished the Vedder yesterday with a couple of fly fisherman and we got into some fish.  I managed to hook into a couple of cutties ( ALL released unharmed) and one suckerfish, which i've never caught before on the vedder. One of the flyfisherman I was with also caught a  cuttie on a xmas tree pattern.  Saw a couple of bigger fish do a some aerial acrobat moves, but I didn't manage to hook into any of them.  I took the early season opportunity to experiment with a variety of different setups, leader length and wool combos, etc...

The river was fairly coloured in the morning and seemed to clear up a tad in the afternoon. The vedder seemed to escape the heavy rains that  hit Vancouver in the morning and the weather was decent with a few showers. The river was moving fairly fast and the lower portion was uncrossable at the section of the river where  I was fishing. Only a few people out yesterday which made it a relaxing day on the river. I'm looking forward to  the Chum fishery as I love the  the numbers and the fight they put up.

I also spotted some something I've never seen before on the Vedder. A fairly large crawfish pincher. Never seen a crayfish on a coastal stream before, not that I've really looked to hard. Does the vedder have a farily large crawfish population?
