some real good info in this thread....if I may be so bold as to offer a lil' tidbit of my own...when ya get to the lake...don't just start loadin' everything up...take 5-10 mins and wander the shoreline...look at any vegetation right at the shore line....stop and watch in the shallows for lil' indications of what might be food for a fish....I often take a veggie strainer with a fine mesh and "shake the bushes" (mess with any subsurface vegetation) then scoop with the strainer...amazing what you'll find...observe whats around you and you'll save time findin' fish on yer hook...;)))

Lou will turn things around with his game and the Canucks will make their way back to the top of their division... Canuck's have a great chance of going all the way this year... maybe you can save this post so I can say I told you so in a couple of months Smiley

I would be very happy to be skunked only 10% of the time.  But, it is enjoyable trying to get there.

Gordon

Perhaps I being way to optimistic imagining I can get this down to 10%.   Maybe 30% is a more realistic hope :)

This has all been great info and I am going to be putting it all to good use and thanks Mojoman.   I will need to go out and get one of those strainers sometime.

I don't think Bob is there anymore. Are you talking about the guy with the Big Grizzly sign across from Dairy Queen? I was in talking to him a few months ago and I was going to buy a few things from him. I went back about 2 weeks later and his store windows were all papered up and there was a sign saying that he sold that store. I could be wrong....I'll have a look on the way home from work tonight.

Could be, have not been into his shop[ since I moved to Mission four years ago. He has been there for years, so i guess he was due for retirement.

Hit Whonnock again last night (had my sights set on Hatzic but couldn't make my connection passed the gate for a boat launch), fishing was reasonable for just passing a full moon. Lots of hits but tuff to get solid takes. It was my wife Kim who figured out the puzzle this time when she got bored with the slow action and tried a Royal Trude. That speeded things up, but since there was only one Royal Trude in the box I tried a red bodied Tom Thumb. The action was even faster. After the fly change, the crappie action was more like what it should be (one to three hits on every cast). Time for a fish fry, small but tasty it's hard to beat crappie. Anyway the bite is coming on, they are holding in 10 to 20 feet of water, and unless the weather turns cold the fishing should be AAA by the weekend.
