koifish, if you are new to Vedder fishing, I can show you some deadly spots for springs and coho. Post your email and I can send you details.

Were you guys fishing right below the Native Beach Seining?  I was the lone, solitary Fly fisherman downstream from you.  Fishing was much better than last week.  Almost felt like the Squamish at times.  Quit after my arms got tired from playing all those fish.  Best fly was FFM's staple pattern (comes through again!).  Can't believe I was virtually by myself.

Wish I could have joined you bro.  Time to switch gears and start getting ready to toss some "Stratocaster secret sauce roe"...  ;) ;)

Roe hooks very few pinks I have found. Spinners, shrimp, jigs with rubbery twister tails and other such jigs work very well I have found.

Yup pinks are not a big fan of roe. I use roe in the Vedder when the pinks are in to avoid them. And it works

pinks will grab roe but not very often. It also helps to fish along beside where the pink are holding because coho will sit right tight against the schools for cover. most our springs on sunday were also sitting right tight against the wall of pinks and not in the deeper water where they would normally be found

of course springs go for roe !

Agreed gentlemen.  Pinks are NOT good roe takers by any means.  However, other species take roe very well.   :)
