Went out for four hours this morning with Steve from Johnny's Sportfishing and got three fish. It was definitely slow... one fish 20 mins in, then the last two were caught in the last hour. One of the fish had recent battle wounds. Don't know if the fishing was slow because of the commercial opening but happy to come back with some fish in the cooler. The guide and his boat were awesome and my dad and I both had fun
Good idea from Rod about going out on the ocean but we wanted to try the river in particular because neither of us have been out on a fishing boat on the Fraser. I also wanted to try bottom bouncing because I've heard so much about it
It's an interesting way to fish and I like how tactile it is. Before anyone chimes in, don't worry I'm not going to rush out and buy my own BB setup

Here are some fish pictures. The vacuum-sealed packages are just the bits heading for the freezer... there was a bit more that we ate. Sockeye sure aren't photogenic fish...
