| May 9th, 2005: Peterhope Lake Potential
Water Shortage Crisis
A new lot of recreational housings has been developed by Peterhope Lake Resort Development Inc. 30 homes are the new addition once the entire development is finished. After 19 homes had been built, a noticable problem arose. There is a water shortage and the well that was drilled produces water that is not suitable for drinking. Peterhope Lake Resort Development Inc. has applied to divert water from Peterhope Lake. If the application is approved, 7,500 gallons would be diverted from the lake, which will further damage this already fragile ecosystem. The application is currently being viewed by Regional Water Manager of Kamloops, who has asked the public to provide feedbacks by May 13th.
