?? no beer!!!! but...but...im already 17 only so many beers left before i croak!!!! well i better get drinking chris you should send some of that luck over this way im in the same boat as bigfisher over there oh well my day shall come just a quick question, are drennans worth the money? are they rerally that much better than regular foam floats?

They are expensive and I have never bought one. Lots of anglers using them so a lot more to find as I did today. Keep your eye open and you will find one.

I have been lucky to still have my Maple Leaf Drennan and it has been very good to me so far. If I ever lose it a big reward will be offered. I just like the way they drift and with that red top very easy to see if you kep your eye on your float like I did not today.

I do not know if they are better than others but I like them as when you wind them in they cause very little disturbance which could spook fish in clear water. A thing to remember when winding in ,I like to keep my rod tip high not like some that keep it low and when they wind in it makes a bit of a wake like a torpedo in search of an enemy ship. Lift the rod and this will not happen. Maybe it does not matter but remember steelhead have survived for a few years in the fresh water and then the ocean and are very easily spooked. Only my opinion that other may disagree with.

great read chris and nice fish man!
fished the top end today for a couple hours mid day and ..... not a sniff. headed up hwy 1 to another little flow and caught a couple small trout on some pink wool, egg imitations but no steel for me today. Will be stayin in the wack for the weekend so will be pounding dawn till dusk sat and sun. hope to bump into a few of you guys.
