Lots of small goldfish at the Hastings Pond.
Saw some in Lafarge (recently released adults in 'store colors') and Como Lake (schools of young fish) this year and in the ponds up in Mundy Park some time ago. Not surprised to see them there.

Interesting to hear of a positive impact from a well known invasive species btw.

Instead of using poison, how about GMO goldfish. Australia is trying daughterless carp.

Or even carp herpesvirus

Maybe there should be a ban on goldfish and koi in BC.

Could be multiple reasons. I'm guessing there was probably some hate comments and/or the guy didn't want to be on the video if it was on YouTube so the poster took it down.

The alt-right would say they are taking resources away from native rainbows. Piscatorial racism and xenophobia at work.
If Dragon Lake was in the USA, I guess they'd propose to build a wall around the lake or, at the very least, create a goldfish database.

What harm are the Goldfish doing?

the lake has a finite amount of food resource. Goldfish/carp are both prolific breeders and efficient feeders - they eat small aquatic  insects & invertebrates etc - which is also the favoured food of rainbows. So what happens is they tend to out compete the trout and reduce a lake's capacity to produce trout - both in numbers and size. They'll be some compensation as larger trout will eat smaller goldfish but overall the trout and the trout fisherman lose.
