wow.... "Mr. Sacht has more than 25 previous convictions under the Fisheries Act", does it need 25 previous convictions before the hammer is laid down.

sad fact, no one will EVER get jail time for anything related to this kind of behavior when, IMO, it would only take a few people being made a public example of and some idiots might take notice. This monetary fine was not any where near enough.


JAIL? people don't even go to jail for rape, burglary, abuse, ect Nobody need to be eating up taxpayer dollars for a recreational fishing offence. Fined more? yes

Makes more sense to have him put to work on salmon enhancement projects or cleaning up the river wearing a shirt that says " I poached Salmon" then sending him to some day camp on my dime. His $800 would hardly cover the cost of holding him there for any length of time.
