In other news and trickle down effect of Kes coming back tonight;

Sturm to be a healthy scratch.
And to make room on the roster, Taven going down to the farm.
More notably, D pairing changes. The Canucks are going to load up their two best dmen (IMHO) on the top unit. Hamhuis with Edler, Bieksa with Ballard, and Salo with Alberts.
I certainly like the idea of your top pairing to be your top two dmen. This seems to be the case in most places around the league.

Top Pair 28 minutes
Second 22 mintutes
Third 20 minutes

Or there abouts.

IMHO, Bieksa is just not a top pair guy. He has too many lapses in judgement, and WAY to much casual play. Its like he doesn't just settle into a game, he either has SUPER intensity and happy feet, in guys' faces, clearing the net. Or plays "too cool", trying to make things look easy, then he makes mistakes.

Too many mistakes to be on the top pair.

Should be a fun game tonight, Rypien tribute and an original 6 team in the building.

It was a great game and typical of October for the Canucks.  They have the same start every year.  Total domination in shots but not a goal to show for it, and Luongo in far from fine form.  He gets virtually no shots on him for long stretches, and then when they finally come, they are quality shots and anyone would need to be sharp to stop them. The goals will come in time and Luongo will get his form back, but I feel sorry for anyone with any Canucks in their hockey pool.

yep your offense finally showed up, rinne got yanked and volpatti got smoked by tootoo, other than that a pretty boring game, but u got the win so i guess thats what counts, HAWKS won again as well, 3-1, and if it werent for varlamov, the HAWKS would have scored about 8 goals.....holmes*

Sedin-Sedin-Burrows
Booth-Kesler-Higgins
Hodgsen-Malhotra-Hansen
Weise-Lapierre-Reinprect
Ebbett, Volpatti

Hamhuis-Edler
Ballard-Bieksa
Alberts-Salo
Tanev, Rome

All American 2nd line.

Two dead weight players exchanged for a young, talented forward.  I like it.

Raymond as trade bait for another player or pick as needed at the deadline.

I like what GM MG is doing.

Reinprecht is going to the AHL. Florida is dumping salary. The only reason we got that 3rd round pick was for taking Reinprecht off the Panthers hands.

Sturm is garbage and I knew he was a plug until Kesler/and or Raymond were back in the line up. Samuelson isn't a huge loss, the Canucks played a lot of the season last year without him, and most of the playoffs, however when he's going, he's a very effective player but most of the time he is floating around and tends to score a lot on seeing eye long range shots. Booth is a wild card, he's a natural goal scorer hopefully with a big, skilled center in Kesler he can set career numbers, atleast in goals. Reinprecht hasn't been NHL material for a number of years.
