Was on the river in the mornig ...lost 1 coho , landed multiple pinks  , released a 7-8 pound spring and bonked a 22-23 pounder that turned out to be a marble. Not sure what all the fuss is about with springs smelling out of the Vedder but this one had no strong scent at all and the flesh was nice. Maybe its only the pure whites?

yes the pure whites are the stinky ones however the marbles will also have a bit of scent. I have found that springs only start to get stinky when they start to grey up. all the ones i got last year were super chrome and pure whites and had no smell at all. The one i kept yesterday didnt really stink and it was chrome when hooked but turned a little grey once it sat for a bit  ::)

killed a chrome white jack last weekend, bbq'd up well. like hook said, when they go green is when they stank!!!!
