While fishing at the Vedder today I had the pleasure of watching a gentleman right beside me catch 2 jack springs on roe, which he politely offered me one, which I gladly and thankfully took. I learned a little from the gent about roe and am going to try and cure my own. Thanks for the Jack once again if you're a member of the forum, it's going to go on the smoker tomorrow. It sure was nice to see a fish caught that 'took' the presentation. For a while I was thinking it couldn't be done.

Now see, there are some nice people out there.  But yes it is very possilbe to get a fish to take the presentation.  Usually just takes some time out on the water to get the hang of it.  But once you get one, that is the biggest lesson.  You will always remember how you were set up, what kind of water it was, and ,most importantly, what the take felt like.  Roe is awsome this time of year as well.  Anyhow hats off to the gentleman that gave you the fish and helped you out.  We need more people like that out on the river!!!

Techincally i believe it is illegal for someone to give fish away. If retained it has to be for your own use. From what i remember. isnt that why ppl have to hand over rods while bottom bouncing? cant land fish for someone else. Not that that really matters. I just hook fish for ppl and hand over the rod. only thing i ask for isteh roe lol. thats what i charge for catching the fish for you lol.

Actually, as I understand the rules, you can give away your fish BUT even though you've given it away, it still counts towards your daily limit.

I think what IH8XC is saying is if you don't won't the quota to count towards yours, but that person will need a valid license including whichever stamp required.

You're right though, if you give away fish (ones you landed) it is counted toward your quota.

SO..the next question is, if you are given a fish, while on the river, is that added to YOUR quota??  Interesting stuff, I wonder how they decide who the quota lands on.

No if you are given a fish that 'giver' is suppose to write down his/her license number date and place of catch. It's only if that 'giver' pass his rod to you for you to land the fish (provided you have appropriate license) then it is counted towards your quota.

And you're supposed to have in your possession that piece of note from the giver til you reach your place of residence.
