I am planning on going fishing with a friend of mine that is fairly new to fishing and was just wondering what a good place would be to try?

I have fished in the rivers before but I am just wondering what everyone thinks would be a place to go that has a good shot at a few fish and that wouldnt be too busy as my friend is a novice. I am also not that great at river fishing (usually go trout and salmon fishing on a boat) so if you could help me out that would be great. Any techniques that should be tried would also be great.
