So here is the Superbowl score...Seals 3 - Gord 0

We launched at Ambleside at 8am to falling snow and a lack of other boaters

Set the crab traps and got busy on the down riggers. Anchovies behind flashers at 100' and yellow-belly silverback spoons at 50'. Nothing for the first 1.5 hrs except hot coffee. Finally the first hit came around 10am. 20" Chinook set packing. 20-30 min later I yell "top starboard rod"! "Other side"! My best friend starts reeling in a second fish. Suddenly ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ the reel screams to life as the fish takes a nice 100 yard run only to be lost. Another 20" to the boat and sent packing. Then another one to the boat (1.5 lbs) when suddenly my buddy yells "a big one just took it"! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ the reel screams to life. Another huge run. A little line gained until another long run. It's a great fight until I say "Is your line going over to that seal over there"? The damn seal is looking at us from 100 yards with the fish in its mouth. After a little more fun, he finally gets it. We keep fishing. The seal tells his friends and now we have 3 of them following us. More hits with some to the boat and some lost. Finaly my Buddy gets what feels like a better sized fish on. 2-3 revolutions on the Shimano and ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ the reel screams to life. The fight is on. This is a good one that last about 5 minutes before he gets the fish away from the seal. The seal is 15' back of the boat with this foul look on his face like we took
his fish. "HA! YOU BAS$%^D! YOU COULDN'T GET THAT ONE"! We grinned at each other, unhooked the poor Chinook and sent him limping home. I'm sure to be eaten by an angry seal. All totaled, we had at least a dozen hits with 4 good fish ariving at the boat only to be sent home, one more seal bitten fish makes 5. 3 more taken by seal (s). Not a bad day. I don't know why, but the seals never got mine. I must reel fast

Packed up at 2pm (no crabs

) watched the last 1/2 of the game.
