Furry creek - Lots of dead Fry

On a recent visit to the mouth of Furry creek, i noticed lots of dead fry, in the hundreds from what i could see. Any idea what they are ? Who should be notified ?

they may be sand lance or possibly Pacific smelt or surf smelt. Smelt often spawn on local beaches at this time of the year. In the photos they look like the skins of the fish are somehow "digested' as if they were eaten and then disgorged.

I suggest that it’s a sand lance.

See the fourth pic down. Looks very similar to what you observed.

Looks very similar. Still wondering what could have killed them...maybe they got trapped in a pool on a high tide and than the water got too warm or oxygen depleted ?
