Most of us have watched this comedy movie. Canada's own Mr Candy (actor) was super.
Been a few posts & excellent vid(s) on the ice fishing topic on FWR. Here's another story on ice fishing.
100s of sport fishers have cancelled their ice fishing trip ! Shocking but no fault of their own.
Yep Devil's Lake North Dakota.
Too far to drive, too expensive to fly in, thus train is the most preferred method.
Only one problem.
The Amtrak passenger train that goes from Chicago to Seattle/Portland has had to detour away from Devil's Lake also known as the Perch capital though it also has other game fish.

The winter has been very cold plus N Dakota is rich in oil only 2nd to Texas.
Both these factors has affected passenger rail travel.
Too many oil / freight supply trains clogging rail traffic on the main tracks has forced the detour.

So the net result is 100s have had to cancel their ice fishing trip to Devil's Lake this winter & too bad as sports fishing brings in 20 million dollars to the area annually.
Many of the 7000 people that live in Devil's Lake also depend on Amtrak are also affected.

500 million dollars will be spent in the next year on extra track construction to get all trains travelling on time & end the clogs. The pipeline is at capacity thus moving oil by rail is needed.
Because the city or town is just too small there is no regular plane service & for most too far & out of the way to drive there in winter.
