Tidal Fraser River, October 26th 2013
« on: October 26, 2013, 04:21:41 PM »

Fished the incoming tide on the North Arm, nine fishermen, one 6 or 7 lb wild coho landed on roe and no bites for almost everyone. Very little chum surfacing today. It was split 50/50 between roe and spinners/spoons.

Couple of weeks back seemed to me to be the peak of the run at least in this spot, people have mentioned that the coho run can go into mid November but it's been pretty quiet these last two weeks at this spot.

out in Glen Valley from 4-5:30 and saw only 2 fish jump.  nothing on my hardware and nothing for the 6-8 roe guys (other than a small sturgeon).

Got the biggest wild coho I've ever caught today - what a beauty doe!  She was pushing 12 lbs for sure.  Lost another about an hour later and the old lady got a nice bull trout - all on homemade spinners.  What a nice day out there!

I went fishing from 3:30 pm - 6:00 pm. There was moderate salmon activity on the surface, and I only had two fish chase my lure towards the surface while fishing hardware. During my final 45 minutes of fishing, I decided to use a jig which I purchased way back in 1994 in a Calgary Wal-Mart, a 1/4 oz orange pumpkin Blue Fox Foxee jig (discontinued by Blue Fox) which I tied some peach coloured Gibbs yarn on the hook. I managed to lose two salmon on it, and one was a solid hook, but it spat out the hook. I wished I added some scent like Dr. Juice to my jig because the fish today were reluctant to strike.
