I am glad it worked out for you buddy. :)

I am busy as hell smoking my sockeye and spring.
Next weekend I'll make another batch of pinks.

Saturday or Sunday?
What works better for you?

Oh, BTW, your new (to you) Abu Cardinal spinning reel is oiled, lubed, spooled with 12 pound mono and ready to fish! ;D

Its seems like Abbotsford is doing well.

I was out on the North Arm this morning and it was a dud.   Nobody catching anything not so much as a bite for anybody.

Fished the poplar bar from about 8-12 today. Hooked 6 and landed 3.  I was using a pink buzz bomb and had a fish on 3 straight casts in a row.

Glad to hear you guys got some fish, Bobo.

I fished the tidal fraser as well this morning, for about 3 hours over the high slack and into the ebb.  Hooked into 5, but only landed 2.  Both were does, both were chrome, and both will taste delicious later tonight I am sure!  :)

Then you must have seen me drift by you in my dingy.  It was great after the rain stop, wasn't it?

hooked 2, landed 1 (a super chrome male that really wanted to go back to the ocean).  no where near as many fish as yesterday!  it was tough out there today - but its always a great day when you get a chance to get out on the water and catch fish!

Managed only one on the incoming tide, a large male in the 7-8 pound range. Ended up losing 4 others, it was definatly slow. Hopefully tomorrow is better.

I was there about 3pm-5pm, no fish except a weird one that was swimming in circles that people were watching, it was right at the surface about 10 meters outs. Didn't look like it was going to make it...

Was out just East of Fort Langely this afternoon - landed 3 nice does in a row - broke my line just above the hook while trying to land number 4 due to mistake # 1: Check your leader every so often for nicks and abrasions.

Made mistake number # 2 while hurriedly trying to get back into action - use the appropriate size hook for the type of fishing your doing.  I used the first package of hooks that I pulled out my backpack (2/0) whilst quickly tying up a buzz bomb.

Lost 4 in a row -  all near the shoreline.  Retied with something smaller - finally landed doe # 4 - nice chromer with a few lice still attached.

Plus it didn't rain in the afternoon as what I hear in the forecast.  ;D

Twas a great day!

Fished Abbotsford from shore from 9-1 on Sunday. I got a chrome doe in the first 10 minutes but then it was very spotty in the first 2.5 hours with almost no fish caught along the bar. The fish seemed to be moving out of casting range.
After the rain quit, the sun came out and it was like the switch was turned on. I had fish rising within 12 feet of me and the bite was fast and furious for the next hour. Ended up catching more than a dozen between two of us.
The fish wanted a faster retrieve than last week.

Fished a slow moving flow off the Fraser yesterday.
Lots of people, lots of fish jumping.

Got 5 to hand including a near 10lb buck that had the tip of my new 7wt in the water.
Took home a couple of clean does.

Most of the fish were caught in a short time window near high slack.

Pinking ain't easy !
For me anyways on Sunday. My only chance this past week to get out and I must have hit it pefect between runs/schools.
Barnston to McMillan searching for rollers and also with sounder and could not find anything but the odd straggler for 4 hrs Sunday afternoon.
Just odd to see a complete void compared to last weekend outing where they were thick all day long. Anyways, sounds like from the reports that there were some numbers before and after this area thru the weekend so will hope for better timing next outing.
