What kind of oil and lube do you guys use on your pins?

I have found sewing machine oil the best so far. there is a stuff called Hot Sauce which is also really good. you can also use the reel oil that comes with your level winds, its good but the other stuff is just a little bit better

a buddy of mine actually just brought a cp reel over that had not been lubed in about 50yrs, it still spun alright but when i opened it and re-lubed it it just kept going and going....just amazing !!! (that was sewing machine oil) oh and i cleaned the spindle before oiling it, clean before oiling all the time

I've posted this before so heres a refresher - automatic transmission oil.

ATF and air-tool oil are basically interchangeable. We use ATF on our air tools.

It's a very light 0-5w oil that has high detergents.

If I were using it on fishing reels, I would use a synthetic ATF. $12/L will last you forever and a day.
