Vedder River Feb. 1
« on: February 01, 2008, 05:56:32 PM »

Went out for a couple of hours today.  Quite warm out there, compared to previous week.  Fished at Tamahi and nothing.  Went down below Vedder Crossing and hooked one and had him on for one, two and three head shakes and then gone.  Felt good.  Three times out three hits one landed this past 10 days.
River is very low and the fish are random over the river.  Some guys hit a bunch this morning with one weighed in at Fred's 12 1/2 pounds.

Showed improve over the next couple of weeks.

Slower than last few days thats for sure...
Fished mid and upper with only 1 brief hookup all day....
Pounded 4 different spots that produced earlier in the week and nada....

This was the closest I came to a fish today.... noticed him at my feet when picking up a dropped swivel..

I was out too and managed this nice 12lbs hatchery doe in the lower on a roe bag. Saw Toothpick out there and he was into fish too as well as the master who released a small hatchery buck and tubed about a 9lbs wild for the hatchery just as I was cleaning my fish and leaving. 8)

I'm guessing that it is a pink fry.

I agree with pink fry. Time to get some fry patterns on the 5 wt.

Had a spring do it to me on the squamish with my 6wt while using a popsicle for pinks this year, needless to say i was in my backing in no time and the fish won quite easily. ;)  Ill be hitting up my end of the lower mainland and some new spots a little ways away from the whistler area with fry patterns.
