we did very well in the surrey/delta area for sturgies from the boat last week
the dock that used to be closed is now open and has been for a bit now.... dropped in last night with my son for a bit and saw one small one get caught.... the guys there were using dewies.
we got our fish last week all on oolies (rays bait smelt) including a biggie in the 7/8foot range.. I'll post pics once i get them switched from rolled film to cd.

Great video!

I was watching some of our family movies the other night and found one where I had taken my 7 year old daughter out.

We were fishing in Gold River, she had a fish on and was having a blast.    You couldn't hear her though....................all you could hear was me stuttering out orders and panicking as I tried to "calm her down" and provide some advise.

It's funny as a Dad, you spend the whole day packing up the kids and the fishing gear, driving to the spot, you finally get a fish on, and have the opportunity to watch your kid play a fish.  This sounds so enjoyable but they always drop the rod too low and don't understand how to adjust the drag.

Naturally us fathers want to help and want the kid to have a good time so we offer advise the best we can.

When I saw the video and heard myself blabbing away, both my daughter and I couldn't stop laughing.  I have to admit BC HUNTER, you sound calm and cool compared to me in my video........I think next time I am going to either turn the sound off on the video camera or have to tape my mouth shut next time.  ;D

Anyways, looks like your daughter had fun, hope she landed that fish.
