hit the lake at 6:30am and within 2mins of lines being in the water first hit. After that it was non stop all day long between my friend and myself we hooked into no joke 120 fish in 11 hours of trolling.we only got around half in the boat as all kokanee were around 8 to 9 inches and skinny so none were bonked but tonnes of fun none the less.Gear of choice was willowleafs with wedding bands with a little worm for good measure. I have fished this lake for years growing up with my grandpa but since he died i haddent been back there so needless to say it was a very special day for me as well.

Just use that same red fly that worked on Kawkawa and you will be fine. If your in a boat dont worry as these kokanee are everywhere.  On my way home from Peterhope today that lake had whitecaps and was nasty. The lake can be very choppy and a small boat is not recommended.

ya i have been up to nicola the last couple of years go up once a year thing. it can get choppy windy. best fishing is in the morning and then lunch time it starts to turn the waters picks up, some nights you may get get lucky and it may be calm after dinner time. we stayed at the one trailer rv park at the end of the lake area and we fished straight across from there and its good fishing there. but like bbronswyk2000 said the kokanee are everywhere, and there are some nice rainbows in there as well got one last year that was a fat 18'' trout. i was just using sinking line flyrod with a red doc spratley fly. here is a sight as well for information on interior lakes for info

well FishFreak if you are staying in the monk park campgrounds well then i would say anywhere from the swimming area to the end of the lake closer to kamloops should almost be a shoein for a few fish. as for gear i always use a willowleaf or ford fender with green,red, weddingbands and i like to use a liitle worm for good measure.it is true it can get very windy and unfishable up there also but like shawn john said it will normally calm down for the night bite.Oh as well as bbronswyk said you can also troll flies as i am not much of a fly fisher i cant name any flies for you because i just put whatever on and soometimes they wprk and sometimes they dont.
