lower unit (outboard that is)
« on: March 16, 2007, 07:09:42 PM »

Changed the lower unit fluid today on the outboards.  Anyone know how tight to screw down the drain plug?  I changed out gaskets, but still have a small leak going on and no matter how tight I get it, the screw still gets a little drop of oil on it.

I always wrap the screws threads in plumbers tape. That solved the problem on my motor. I always change the gasket with the fluid every year.
