Vedder Canal September 20th
« on: September 20, 2006, 11:54:52 AM »

Fished the canal from first light to 8:30 with no luck, only seeing one spring hooked out of the 15 so guys under the KWB. I decided to leave and check out a few places on my way to a special spring hole that I came across the other day. After exploring for a bit I got to my spring hole and right away i see a spring surface every so often, and start off casting some wool combo. Half hour into fishing this spot I see someone had left a big chunk or cured roe on the ground, so i pick it up and start using it, but no action. I decided to change it up and put on a colorado, which I had never used before. First cast with the new blade and what you know 'snag', there goes a $dollar.50, but i was lucky and broke free to make another cast. Next cast boom fish on! What a surprise it gave me since I really didnt know how to fish with a blade. I got it close to a opening in the log jam that I was fishing and everything was going smooth and then pop the fish is gone. At least It made my day, I didnt get a great look at it but it was a small chromer. The rain and wind was non stop since I started my outing and headed home.

Don't forget even though it's been raining, the ground is till parched from the summer we've had. May take several days for the ground to be saturated.

Don't forget to carry a file and touch your hooks up regularly  ;)
