Went to the fraser yesterday and today( slept in the old fishing mobile with dad) MAde it to the river 8:00 last night! THere were two bosoes being real smart alecs about us! "Check out the little kid and his dad, where's ur treble hook, i lost mine!" SO first me and my dad out cast them and then 10 minutes later i bring in a spring 15lbs, and then 2 casts later my dad hooks a sockeye! Finally it got too dark to see and we left! Whos the the smart one now dumb my friend! NExt morning(today) wake up 4:30 head down to the river hook 2 fish bang bang, then it got slow for a couple hours, around 9:00 school of sockeye move in, everbody hooking fish but me, so i sat down a had a rest. Finally the fish passed by! No fish for my dad either! Get up start casting, 3 casts later bang big spring WOOO! Takes me all the way down to my last few raps, tighten the drag and try to turn it, pop the hook comes out! Dang! Again another bunch of sockeye move in, ten minutes two fish, ( sea lion got one of them bad though ) keep fishing and try to get other peoples limits! Get a granola bar, next cast SPRING SPRING SPRING big fish atleast 20-25lbs again takes me all the way down to my last few raps , starts turning around, YES! reel reel reel, turns around and just guns it for the ocean,NOOOOO!! People on the bank getting agitated, trying to bring the fish in quickly, finally he bites through the line! cupcakes NO NO NO! ( i had my sockeye leader on anyway 2/0 hook 20lb test mono was afraid he was going to bite through! Should have had spring leader on, thats what i was fishing for 4/0 hook with 30lb mono) OH well theres next week when i'm going to the thompson for a two day trip aswell!
