Alouette question
« on: January 28, 2006, 06:31:39 PM »

I was up that way today, and I was wondering is the Alouette river fishable, and does it have anything in it?

ok, Steelhead? Salmon? Trout?

Where is a good area? I was by maple ridge park, and I took a run upto Golden Ears entrance, saw what appeared to be some nice pools between Ridge park, and ear gates.

I hear there's some nice Cutts there, and maybe some bass, but all I've caught were pikeminnows. And be sure to read the regs: I think the area you're talking about is "no fishing".

I can show you where I was told to go, but it's not really a secret - just walk the river and look for trails, knocked-down grass, bits of fishing line... Oh, and rising fish are a clue too! ;) Been there several times but haven't seen enough action to bother wetting a line.

I went up there on the weekend aswell...nothing :(. But if you can go out out as soon as it stops raining, that would be the best considering cutty's love the day after rain and the water conditions.Gold creek has some rainbows and big pike minnows, and I have heard about big steelhead being cuaght in the Alouette and Gold Creek. So if you get the chance...Give em' a go!
