Wow, Nog, some fishing excursions and out-of-the-world fishing experiences. Congratulation! That blue-fin must be worth a fortune for the Japanese sushi market.  :D  Are they quite rare this far up in the Pacific?

Caught the BlueFin while taking a day off from a Coastal Zone Management Conference in Nova Scotia over a decade ago. Cool boats, at least that day a fairly flat pond, and one MEAN rush chasing those things! That fish was sold commercially, as was the deal with the Skip. And it did indeed fly off to the Japanese market the next day (so we were informed anyway). We did get to carry off a few steaks though, and they were great! And the memories of that battle are something I'll carry to the grave.

The rest were generally targetted results, and most required dozens if not hundreds of outings. 'Course I don't really mind the task  ;) :D

Nope:

Quote
Golden Trout
Alberta's Golden Trout Management Plan was completed in 1995 for this 'species of special concern.' Alberta is the only Canadian province with golden trout. The species was first introduced in 1959 from its native alpine lakes in California. The plan is being implemented to conserve this unique species and at the same time provide some special fishing opportunities by way of restrictive angling regulations.
