Here is an upcoming television program that many readers maybe interested. On Thursday November 17th, the "About Us" series on KCTS/Seattle will feature two stories that are fishing related. The show starts at 9:00pm Pacific.

Alexandra’s Echo

Fresh out of college in California, Alexandra Morton made her way to northern Vancouver Island following the family of a killer whale she’d been studying in captivity. Now a resident of Echo Bay in the Broughton Archipelago midway up British Columbia’s wild west coast, Morton has pursued her passion for the natural world and for orcinus orca—killer whales. Her love for nature has proven endless, even across the chasm of death. But her world is now threatened by industrial aquaculture and Alexandra finds herself at the center of the storm raging around fish farms.

Seattle: Fish: Halibut Heads

It’s early spring at Seattle’s Fisherman’s Terminal, and Jan Standaert and his fellow “Halibut Heads” prepare to sail their beloved 1920’s schooners North to the Aleutian chain, carrying on a century-old tradition of long-lining. In a time when many fisheries- notably salmon- are struggling under depleted runs, why are the Halibut Heads so happy?

I'm glad to hear Ms. Morton's findings will be broadcast on an american channel.  Maybe the americans will help pressure government to get rid of those fish farms.  At least they will be aware of the problem and hopefully some of them will decide not to buy farmed salmon.
