After fishing Chehalis yesterday and hitting chum after chum after chum and only seeing 1 Ho landed, FishFreak and i decided to give the Vedder another shot. BTW......nice meeting you Big Steel!
Arrived at the river about 7:30AM and weird to see that not too many fishermen around. I guess a lot of them has called it quits for the season or hit another system

Anyways we got to one of our favorite spot and i put a #2 silver blade on as my choice of weapon. First three casts were hit and a miss. On the fourth cast....i decided to slow the retrieve right down and BAM........fish on! As i fight this fish, it jumps and headshakes above the water. Now i see that it was a Ho
As i get it in a little closer, i noticed it was hatchery and now i kinda get nervous, but was quite excited. Will this be my first Ho of the year? A few more headshakes and acrobatic movements......i finally get the upper hand and get this doe in. Whew.........feels good to finally get that monkey off my back
FishFreak also hooked into one bullet of a Ho, but the fish was able to shake itself free. All our action came within the first hour and complete deadness after that, so we decided to call it the day. The weather was great (not as cold as Chehalis) and water condition was perfect.
