personally I have never caught a sockeye in may or june, and after checking my logs, we have not caught any sox on the 3 to 4 ft leaders...... except during the opening in august. It should be noted that we are fishing spots that have generally little success for sockeye, something i prefer when targetting springs.
I second the "close the thread" if this degenerates idea...... the flossing debates are pointless.... if you don't like flossing, write to your fisheries minister for changes to the regulations..... or keep whining about it  ;D
