Welcome back Keith

Heads up, fulcrum!  I tried to call off the contract, but it's too late.

Keith!  Good to see you're back!  How was Mexico?

Hi DS.  I had a good time but didn't go fishing.  Well, I did throw a hook in the swimming pool, but the tlapia are still too small.  I put in a garden, puttered around, ate a lot of grapefruit, like that. The whole time I was away I kept thinking about the bass fishing trip in late June to, I believe, Salt Island.  Do you know if that is still on and what one has to do to sign up for it.   I like the new look on the FWR site, by the way.

I didn't mean to hijack your thread, Fulcrum.  I missed your controversial posts, so I can't comment on that.  I will say, though, that a little crow is usually a good addition to the diets of most type A personalities, and I thought your appology was well expressed.  Sorry I haven't been posting on the SR board.  I'm very comfortable here.

Good point about the Hijack...split off.

To the best of my knowledge, it is a go!  Rod would have more details on it.  I'm not sure that I'll be allowed out of the house, since I'll be on a fishing trip to the Clearwater area on the FIRST weekend in June.  Mrs. DS may not like me going twice in a month :(

Welcome back Keith. It's still on, not really an official FWR outing, but just a casual trip that members are welcome to come. We're heading over there (Salt Spring Island) on June 24 - 26, staying at Lakeside Garden.

Book early (like early May), as it can be booked up fairly fast that time of the year. Mention FWR and you get 10% discount and free boat usage (electric motor extra).

So far Nina and I are going, Trout Slayer, LukeYVR are too, Chrome Mykiss and Itosh may join us too. :)

DS.... Bring the boss... Didn't she enjoy her stay there last year? :o Or was she too hungry at the cabin because you didn't bring bass back on the dinner table. ;D

We're staying in the cabanas, these tiny huts that are perfect for two people, but can sleep comfortably up to 3.. 4 is pushing it.

We'll be catching smallmouth bass mostly, some yellow perch, the odd cutthroat trout.

Last year we did really well with flyfishing, rapalas on the surface were fun too. The fish are generally between 1 to 2lb, but some bigger ones are around as well. We also plan to do a bit of pier fishing at a nearby beach. We're going to see if we can entice that gigantic crab that came off LukeYVR's line.... ;)

Thanks for the welcome back, folks.  I'm in Albuquerque, NM now at my partners' house.  While I was away, my wife ran an ad for a housesitter in a caretaker magazine, and now I'm sorting through a whole lot of applications and trying not to make anyone feel bad.  I expect to be doing this until the end of the week and then I'll fly back to Oregon on Saturday.  The good news is that all these applications mean I will almost certainly be free to make that late june bass trip.  As soon as I get this house sitting bit nailed down I will be making reservations.

If any of you are interested in getting on the housesitter list, let me know soon.
