What did they do to this poor guy?
« on: January 29, 2025, 09:31:22 AM »

Posting has been slow so I thought I'd take a picture of what they are selling at Superstore.
Why did they do this to him? His head is a bit unproportioned to his body....They call him a 'steelhead'.

Lois Lake fish farm near Powell River markets these as steelhead. Supposedly decades ago they obtained some excess steelhead stock and the marketing rights to call them steelhead. Last I heard they have been given a shutdown notice due to the high escape rates from their facility. Escaped trout have been caught in the 30lb range there.

They are shut down now. Left town without cleaning up. Lots of debris was left behind. The huge net pen escaped rainbows are getting few and far between now in Lois lake.

The aquaculture equivalent of caged raised chickens whose breasts are reportedly 5 times larger than they were in the 1950s, and can barely walk because of the disportionate weight.

The body/head proportions reminds me of a Boeing Dreamlifter or Airbus Beluga😀
