Tofino Charter Recommendations?
« on: May 11, 2016, 06:36:16 PM »

Hi all, I'm heading out to Tofino this summer and am planning on doing a salmon/halibut charter while there. Any outfits to recommend (or recommend to avoid)? They all seem similar price wise, just looking for a place with nice boats, good gear, and friendly guides. Thanks!

If you want to scoot down to Ucluelet for fishing look up Kenny Myers - Fishmyster Charters, he will get you on the fish!

Tofino Ospray.....Shawn's awesome to fish with and puts fish in the boat.  Great bed and breakfast/fishing packages too.

Thanks guys! I checked Braedy Mack but they're booked already for mid-July. Put an email in to Ospray tonight... fingers crossed they've got some room.

Geez I know it's their busy season but I didn't expect them to be so booked so soon ;) Any other suggestions are welcome in case Ospray is booked.

It's a shorter run to the offshore banks from Ukee if that matters-Tofu Town guides always downplay the run but if it's blowing you'll be pounding.

Thanks again for the suggestions. Phoned Kenny in Ucluelet but he was booked up. Didn't get a reply to my email to Ospray from a couple of days ago but I called them today and booked with Shawn Hillier. Should be awesome; hoping to land my first halibut!

Awesome, glad to hear.  I love his boat, it handles the water really well and is pretty fishy.
