FOUND ONE:.....WTB Hardy "The Silex" CP Reel
« on: March 31, 2016, 10:18:41 PM »

Looking for a buddy of mine who wants this reel. Needs to be in excellent to mint condition.  No rash, dings or scrapes.
Original reel pouch and box would be wanted too.
Send pics to email:rodbitterman@gmail.com
Thank you...Rod in Chilliwack

Cracks me up, I paid just over $40 for mine brand new in 1974. Now there are lot's nicks ticks rock rash and even my SIN # engraved  as back then it was said to deter theft. It's probably still worth $40 LOL - but it works fine.

This reel in decent shape should sell for $300-$400.
Ralph I bought my first one in 1980 and paid $89.99 and I thought it was high.  The pre-war Super Silex Dural sold for $8 in 1933.  Now if it is in excellent shape they are going for $1000-$1500.
